For CBRE Investment Accounting and Reporting we are recruiting for an Analyst – Accounting Policy & Reporting (APR). You will work in an ambitious and growing environment. In this role, you will be assisting the APR team in developing and implementing the framework for accounting and reporting of real estate funds in compliance with regulatory standards. Furthermore, you will also be providing guidance to fund teams concerning financial reporting issues. Next to that, you also contribute and assist to onboard the new clients and/or products.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in giving advice to and cooperate closely with the Fund Accounting Services department regarding the reporting structure and regulatory aspects of (new) fund reporting;
  • Keep track of new (inter)national legislation developments with regard to financial reporting as well as of financial reporting obligations relating to, for instance, Dutch GAAP, IFRS, INREV, GIPS and US GAAP;
  • Draft of an EMEA Accounting Manual or Memos to be used by teams and (if relevant) provided to clients;
  • Assist in onboarding new clients and/or products on the Fund Accounting platform and operate as a point of contact for these clients/products;
  • Assist in providing guidance to the fund teams concerning financial reporting issues of new and existing funds;
  • Assist in designing and implementation of fund consolidation and investor reporting methods and tools for the fund teams in alignment with the IFRS and other legislation;
  • Provide input for training of technical accounting to individuals; and
  • Assist in the coordination of the reporting process across various functions, funds and geographies to ensure timely and well organized completion of reporting processes.
  • Quality and consistency review of Fund reporting

Job requirements

  • Bachelor or Master specializing in finance, such as business economics or accountancy, preferred CPA/ACCA/CA or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant work experience, preferably in similar position of at the Big Four.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and Dutch GAAP, IFRS. INREV and GIPS is preferable.
  • Knowledge of accounting for Real Estate funds, Holding Companies, SPVs etc.
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented attitude, strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent English language skills.

Fund Services Team 
The Fund Services team is responsible for the financial reporting, budget, forecast, controlling and cash flow planning for funds and separate accounts. The team is the link between the business, customers, finance and Funds. The team fulfils an important function in supplying reliable and complete financial information and gives solicited and unsolicited advice. The team carries out checks on the underlying data of the fund and is responsible for preparing reports to external investors. Within CBRE IA&R the team has broad responsibilities including the preparation of liquidity forecasts, payment of dividend, budget forecast and the preparation of various tax returns. In addition, the team provides functional management to investment oversight departments within CBRE IA&R.

Accounting Policies & Reporting Team
The Accounting Policies & Reporting (‘APR’) Team is part of the Fund Services Team and has a broad range of responsibilities. The team coordinates reporting within CBRE IA&R and is the go-to-team for technical accounting advise and implementation of new standards and regulations. The team is also the link between the business and technology, focussing on standardisation, optimisation and innovation of our Yardi platform and business processes. Another focus of the team is performance measurement of the assets in our clients’ portfolios and reporting these to the relevant benchmarks.

Investment Oversight 
The investment oversight team works closely with various other departments within CBRE IA&R as well with the client. The investment oversight department is be responsible for controlling and reporting tasks at the level of property owning companies. The team partners with property managers and asset managers of the client as well as other 3rd party advisors (tax, audit, legal) to get detailed understanding of the business and economics of the property owning companies under their responsibility. The team is responsible for reporting, overall coordination and finance.
