We are looking for a Biofuels Accounting Employee to join the Renewables Compliance Team of VARO in Rotterdam. In this role you are responsible for the administration of sustainable specific information and documentation relating to biofuel transactions. This involves both qualitative and quantitive aspects (non-financial). In this context you bring an important contribution to VARO’s compliance with the obligations under the legislation regarding the incorporation of renewable energy in fuels for road transport.

Your main responsibilities/tasks will be:

  • Assessing the conformity of received sustainability documentation to regulatory requirements, commercial agreements and physical receipt of the biofuel;
  • Preparing and issuing of sustainable documentation to customers;
  • Followup correct and timely receipt and issuing of sustainable documentation;
  • Updating biofuel administrations with incoming and outgoing sustainability documentation. The content of these documents is based on the regulatory requirements and the internal procedures adopted;
  • Maintain contact with biofuel suppliers and customers which VARO engages business with related to sustainability documentation;
  • Maintain contact various departsments with VARO’s organisation with regard to complete, timely and correct receipt of sustainable documentation;
  • Issuing of sustainable documentation to national authorities needed for periodic declaration;
  • Participate in regulatory audits.

Experience required

The successful candidate has:

  • Bacherlor degree for starters or MBO+>5 years experience;
  • Affinity with MS office and ERP systems;
  • Affinity or a demonstrated interest in sustainability;
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English language, both written and verbally, German and/or French language skills are considered to be an advantage;
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of the transportation fuels market is considered an advantage.

In order to comply with the content of the job the ideal candidate has quantitative skills, is highly accurate and is able to understand qualitative information in relation to sustainability criteria.

In this role you will be trained to become an experienced Biofuels Accounting Employee with matching responsibilities. You will join a experienced Biofuel Accounting team  and report to the Renewables Compliance Officer Benelux as part of the Renewables Compliance team which is represented in VARO offices in Rotterdam Netherlands and Hamburg Germany.
