As the Treasury Back-Office Manager for Toyota Motor Finance, you will work for one of the biggest automotive organisations worldwide. The Treasury Back-Office Manager will report directly to the General Manager Finance, Compliance and Treasury Operations and work closely with several subsidiaries of the organisation. Previously the Dutch Back-Office activities were managed in the UK, since the start of October Toyota Motor Finance successfully managed to insource the Back-Office towards Amsterdam. You will be the new manager of this team.

As the Treasury Back-Office Manager you have the unique opportunity to supervise the Treasury Operations whilst maintaining full data integrity of the various Treasury System data records. You are expected to thrive in a high-pressure environment whilst managing your own and others’ performance. As the Treasury Back-Office Manager, innovation, a continuous improvement mindset and effective communication should come as a second nature.

Toyota Motor Finance will offer you the chance to work in an experienced and professional Treasury Hub. You will be responsible for a broad range of Treasury Back-Office tasks using technical tools to help you be as successful as possible.

The perfect candidate is a highly motivated finance professional who is willing to go the extra mile. A background in treasury and a good eye for detail are needed to ensure a secure and timely hand over of deliverables. Experience as a manager would be ideal, as you will have the opportunity to grow and professionalize the first Treasury Back-Office team in the Netherlands. The position therefore requires a candidate that is technically skilled and wants to help make the Toyota Motor Finance team more efficient and innovative.

Main tasks and responsibilities

In the position of Treasury Back-Office Manager you will carry the following responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for all aspects of Treasury Operations including the day-to-day management of the Back-Office employees (up to 3);
  • You will ensure the Compliance department with Sarbanes-Oxley regulation and other regulatory requirements;
  • In addition you will safeguard sufficient resources are always in place – to execute daily operational processes;
  • Ensure an efficient and effective workflow for the team, whilst continuously searching for improvements;
  • Further you will manage the escalation and resolution of key operational banking issues and help to deliver the ongoing banking compliance;
  • Continuously reviewing and identifying areas of improvement in the Treasury Management System, regulatory reporting platforms and matching solutions to this with the aim of eliminating manual interventions;
  • Develop the team knowledge on banking products and manage operational bank relationships;
  • Navigate and coach your team members to unlock their potential and ensure high quality output of deliverables;
  • Lastly, you will effectively collaborate with other teams including the Accounting team.

Education and personal skills

  • Bachelor (HBO) or Master degree in a financially orientated discipline (e.g. Finance or Accounting);
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience;
  • Further, you are able to work under tight deadlines;
  • You are analytical, accurate and possess over critical thinking skills;
  • As a person you have intercultural communication skills and you are pro-active;
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.

Toyota Motor Finance
The main activity of Toyota Motor Finance in Amsterdam, is to act as a group finance company for the whole Toyota Group. They raise funds by issuing bonds and notes in the international capital markets. With a team of 15 fte. in the whole organization are you together responsible for intercompany loans of approximately EUR 16.3 billion. Toyota Motor Finance is responsible for executing the companies Risk Management programs that seeks to limit the adverse effects on its financial performance of those risks.
